WHY THE NEW NAME?

WE MAY HAVE CHANGED OUR NAME BUT THE SERVICE AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL REMAINS THE SAME.

So why have we chosen now to change our name from Education Direct to The Education Company? Actually, we haven’t! The thing is we have always been called The Education Company, right from when we first started way back in 1987.

It was our initial focus on direct mail to the education sector that helped us to come up with the trading name ‘Education Direct’. And this name stuck for more than twenty years. But times change.

Like all growing companies, we have continually diversified to meet the changing needs of our customers. We developed award winning marketing software, SPIRIT for those marketing to the education sector, and more recently we have developed websites, as well as e-commerce and registration tools, which enable organisations like yours to market and sell to schools with ease.

The fact is that our business has changed. Where once we were a mailing house that offered additional services, by the end of last year, direct mail represented only a fraction of our annual turnover.

Hence the biggest decision we have ever made. This year we sold our direct mail operation to one of the UK’s most experienced mailing centres. What’s more, we sold our trading name ‘Education Direct’ as part of the deal.

So here’s to 2011!

A rebirth, if you like, of The Education Company, bringing with it a new focus on education data, online marketing solutions, and a brand new version of our SPIRIT marketing software to help those marketing to schools, colleges and universities throughout the UK and internationally.

The name may have changed, but we continue to be your link to the world of education.
